The director explained that the average attendance in English and arithmetic was better than what it really appeared, as two or three new pupils had been admitted during the month. In the drawing, electricity, and chemistry classes there were more pupils in attendance than actually appeared on the roll. These were pupils who were paying, but who, as their names were on tho registers of various public schools, were not allowed on the registers of the Technical School. The position of the eteam and fiignwriting classes again came up for review, and, aa immediate action was necessary, Mr. Castle moved that providing eight pupils were in attendance at the commencement of the next quarter, the classes be continued. Otherwise they will be closed in accordance with previous resolution!, seeing that the board's finances are " so terribly low." Mr. M'Kenzrie' advocated the retention of the classes, but the motion waß eventually Carried unanimously. Mr. Pearson intimated that he would be willing to give one lecture on steam, accompanied by" illustrations and experiments. The lecture is to ' be made a public one, and will be given on a date to ba fixed. The last Tuesday in the present quarter is to be an open night, the building being opened for public inspection.
