' 'A NEW CHALLENGE SHIELD. Intimation has been received by Mr. A. A.' Bennett, secretary of the Wellington Hockey Association, that Mr. E. Nardon, president of the New Zealand Association,^ has given -a Challenge Cup for 'competition among all associations in New Zealand, with the exception of tho four centres and Hawkes Bay. WEDNESDAY ASSOCIATION. The Wednesday Hockey Association's fixtures for the first round are as follow :—: — May 10— Post and Telegraph v. ( Petone B, Karori v. Pakeha, Petone A v. Hui Mai, Hereawa a bye. May 17 — Hereawa v. Post and Telegraph, Karori v. Hui Mai, Petolie B v. Pakeha, Petone A a bye. May 24 — Hereawa v. Karori, Petone A v. Petone B, Post and Telegraph v. Hui Mai, Pakeha a bye. May 31 — Petone A v. Karori, Pakeha v. Post and Telegraph, Hui Mai v. Hereawa,' Petone B a bye. June 14— Petone A v. Pakeha, Hereawa v. Petone B, Karori v. Post and Telegraph, Hui Mai a bye. June 21 — Pakeha v. Hereawa, Petone B v. Hui • Mai, Post and Telegraph v. Petone A, Karori a bye.
