ELECTION COMMITTEE ENTERTAINED.
Mr. John Brodie, who has been uw elected Mayor of Miramar, enterta-inei'ij | the members of his election committee! at supper last night. Several m<anbers| of the new council were also present.] The toast of " Mr. and Mrs. Brodie," proposed by Mi\ Ga-ulter, was drunk; with musical honour*. Mr.. Brodie., in) reply, thanked all who had assisted his return to office, a-nd made a graceful re-i ference to his opponent (Mr. V. Meredith), who, he said, had fought in a clean " L and sportsmanlike manner. -This allusion was much appreciated by iliosa present, and the health of Mr. and ' Mrs., Meredith was ' toasted. MeßSrs. Richards, Doll, Tolford, Stone, Lauren&>n, and Grigg acknowledged ' the toafib of " The Successful and Uneuccesfiful Candidates." Mr. Bath contributed a' | song..
