Encounter, which was there with a portion of the scientific party who had gone lo view the edipss at Vavau, it was decided to. continue tho voyage to San Francisco in company with the steamer Oceano. which is under charier to the same company. The Boveric was compelled to jettison 900 tons of coal before she ;:ot off.
