FIRST CENSUS RETURNS.
DUNEDIN AND SUBURBS. DUNEDIN, 19th April. Mr. Maxwell, Chief Enumerator, has cpmpleted his unchecked summary 'of census returns. The results are as follow : — City of Dunedin, 36,269, exclud-
ing North-East Valley, 5232, total 41,501 ; St. Kilda, 4124 ; West Harbour, 1649; Maori Hill. 2217; Roslyn, 5733; Mornington, 4675; total population, 59.899. Tho total in 1906 was 56,020; increase, 3879. DetaiJs of increases are as follow :— City of Dunedin, 199; North-East Valley, 854; St. Kilda, 1545; Wpst Harbour, 134; Maori Hill, 331; Ro&lyn, 295;. Mornington, 521. Green Island Borough shows a total of 1867, as against 703 in 1906, an increase of 1867, as agdnsfc j.906. an iucrease of 1164, but the boundaries have been altered. Mnsgicl Boroußh has a total of 1595, an increase of 78.
