Reports received indicate that tha Chatham Island potato crop is a particularly heavy and clean one this year Ballot papers are being distributed today to members of the Wellington Furniture Trade Union, to decide whether the precent dispute wiLh employers will be referred to a Council of Conciliation or not. The workers have tSI 3rd May to make up their minds. A meeting of the union yesterday was adjourned in respect for the memory of the late Mr. Alfred Hay, one of the oldest members. Lady Mills was a passenger for Loncion by the Arawa this afternoon. Sir James Mills, who came up from Dunedin to see her away, will return to the i Sfflith,tq^i^ht,.
