TWO MINERS DROWNED.
PINNED BY A FALL OF SLUDGE« [by telegraph— i»rbss association.] INVERCABGILL, This Day. Two miners working at Round Hill— < Joseph Bates and Frpiik Smith — wera found drowned. They were working in a hole, and it appears a fall of sludg« pinned them. Before they could extricate themselves iiie water rose and drowned them. Bates was thirty-seven years of age, and leaves a widow and several children. Smith was a single man.
