GRAIN MARKET.
FEY TELEGRAPH — PHESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 17th March. There is no change to record io the local wheat market. There is not a very active demand for export, and buyers are only giving 2s lOd to 2s lid at uountry stations according to distance. There is a fair quantity ottering/ and the quality is excellent. Oats are very firm and scarce, and increased supplies cannot apparently be looked tor locally. The market is likely to be ruled by Southland, which has the bulk oi -the oats crop available for coastal shipment or export. Oatsheaf ehafi is without change. Partridge peas are in good supply! and prices are fairly steady.
