HIGH COMMISSIONER'S ' REPORT. The Commerce and Tourists' Division of the Department of Agriculture, Commerce,, and Tourists has received tho following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated ' London, 4th March, 1911. (Note : Quotions unless' otherwise specified aye average market prices on spot) :—: — Mutton. — The market is weaker, with a downward tendency. Canterbury 3|d, North Island 3|d, River Plate 3£d per lb. Lamb. — The market is dull on account of heavy arrivals. Stocks are accumulating. Canterbury sJfd, other than Canterbury 4fd, Australian 3|d per lb. Beef. — The market is steady and prices well maintained. Stocks ot New Zealand beef on hand are ligl\ New Zealand hinds, 3|d, fores o^d per lb. Butter. — The market is quiet, but holders are firm for best quality. Choicest New Zealand butter 106s, Australian 102s, Danish 120s, Siberian 106s per cwt. Cheese. — The market is firmer, and there is a better demand especially for white at 57s per cwt; coloured, a moderate demand at 58s per cwt. The mar- | ket has been favourably affected by the Canadian-American Agreement. j Hemp. — There is a better demand and ! the market is firmer. New Zealand good fair on epot per ton £20, fair grade £19, fair current Manilla. £19. Forward shipment: New Zealand good fair per ton £20 ss, fair grade £19 ss, Manila £20 ss. The output from Manila for the week was 20,000 bales. Wool. — The market remains firm. Cocksfoot Seed. — The market is ficm. Buyers have been offering for cocksfoot eeed more freely. Bright clean New Zealand seed, 171b per bushel, 74s 6d per cwt. Eggs. — The market is quiet but firm; a good demand for all descripttans. Italian per 120, 8s 3d to 10s 3d, Danish 9s to 10s 9d, Hungarian 8s 6d to 9s 9d. Poultry. — The market is quiet with no alteration in prices, viz. : Chickens, American, 8d to 91b. Russian, 74d to B^d. Ducklings, 6d to 7d. Turkeys, 7d per lb.
