BROKEN HILL ME.

The half-yearly report of the Broken Hill Proprietary Company shows that the net profits amounted to £102,923. The output of silver was 2,688,8C00z, an increase of 684,0950z, and of lead 44,554 tons, an increase of 13,419 tens, compared with the previous half-year. WELLINGTON BOYS' INSTITUTE. At the Boys' Institute last night, at the close of parade of the Institute Cadets, Captain F. E. Greenish congratulated the tent-pitching team on their recent A'ictory at the Palmerston North tournament, and called on the general secretary, Mr. Coloneus, to present the medals won. The team consisted of Colour-Sergeant Daly, Sergeant Anderson, Privates Bedell, Walsh, and Pemberton. The corps i& now only a few short of the required full strength (84), and. looks very smart in the new uniforms. Under Captain Greenish and Lieutenants Quick and Cooper, the boys are making splendid progress.
