Tho Government printers held th&ir annual picnic at Day's Bay this week in ideal weather, and the 600 and more who were there spent a most enjoyable day. Swimming Handicap — Campbell 1, 0. Jacobson 2. Overseers' Dash — Swain 1, Barns 2. Office Men's Handicap— M'Caull 1, Newtli 2. Relay Race (four from each floor) — Second floor (E, MoHatt's team), 1. The prizes were pressntsd to the successful competitors by the Government Printer, Mr. J. Mackay. The Picnic Cominittee i acknowledge receipt of trophies from Messrs. Cowan "and Sons, Storer, Meek, and Co., Spicer and Sons, P. Hayman and Co., E. W. Mills and Co., Jamc-s Smith and Sons (New House), F. M'Parland, and W. Bedell. The annual cricket match between the Public Works Department and the Government printers resulted in a draw, the former scoring 260 as against 165 by the latter, who had three wickets to fall when stumps were drawn.
