MINISTER RESIGNS. By Telegraph — Press Association.— Copjttjhl, (Received February 13, 9 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, 12th Feb. As an outcome of a decision by the Committee of Union and Progress, Talaat I Bey has resigned the position of Minis- | ter of the Interior. [The political situation, is still somewhat involved, stated the Constantinople correspondent of The Times on 30th December. The committee party met yesterday, but was unable to arrive at a 1 definite decision with regard to the Cabinet, some members suggesting thai' Cabinet changes should be brought abont by the refusal of- a vote of confidence in certain Ministers after they had been individually interpellated by members of the party ; others urged that the Cabinet should be forced to resign en bloc. The Grand Vizier is belisved to have expressed tho intention of opposing any attempt to effect Ministerial changes by the first of these methods, arguing that the recent vote of confidence was given to the Cabinet as a whole. Meanwhile the position of the Minister of tho Interior is believed to be somewhat compromised in consequence of an incident which occurred on Monday in the Chamber Arif Ismet Bey, an important Committee Deputy, who had previously made accusations touching a Deputy's honour, accused' Talaat Bey of having permitted an improper use to be made of certain credits. Talaat Bey Teplied by informing the House that Ismet Bey's hostility, was due to tho fact that he (Talaat Bey) had absolutely refused to find an official post for Ismet Bevy's brother. Epithets of " liar " and " swindler " were exchanged, and the tumult only ceased' when the protagonists had been led away by their friends. It is believed' that the incident may decide a large section of the committee party to refuse to support Talaat Bey.]
