Tho prisoner in court vehemently denied the evidence, which he declared to be lies and the result of jealousy. He cried : "Do you know you are talcing my life?". Other evidence showed that the murdered man Beron had worn a five-pound piece. The girl afterwards withdrew her statement, and the magistrate said he must consider whether a charge of perjury should be laid against her.]
