FEDERAL POLICY. CONSTRUCTION OF THE NAVY.

LARGER VESSELS TO BE BUILT. MEMBERS AT THE CORONATION. MR. MURRAY ON THE REFERENDA. .'By Telegraph.— Preeg Association.— Copyright. (Received January 31, 8.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Speaking at the dinner of the Australian Natives' Association, fhe Federal Prime Minister, Mr. Fisher, said it was the Government's intention to build not only small boats for the Navy of Australia, but some larger vessels also. There had been some criticism on the proposed visit of raemibers of tne Federal Parliament to the Coronation, but itmust be remembered, said the Prime Minister, that the Imperial Conference was also being held, and it was desirable that Australian representatives should be present at a gathering which would deal with matters so important to the nation. Regarding legislation, Mr. Fisher said the Federal Government had no intention of resting on its laurels. Mr. J. Murray, Premier of Victoria, referring to the referenda, said the Constitution was being attacked in a way that was not for the welfare of Australia. They did not want the government of millions of people 'concentrated in one body; they wasted to see legislation required by the various units of the Commonwealth, made by those best able to perform it.
