One of the most progressive business tvpii in Levin to-:iay is Mr. A. L. Williams, the well-known baker and confectioner, formerly in business at Rona fuid Bay's Bay, Wellington. Mr. Williams purchased his present businecs about eighteen months ago from Mr, Wilson, of the Arcadia, and, bo vapid

has been the progress made since taking possession, that Mr. Williams finds it absolutely necessary to make provision for rebuilding at an early date. The contemplated new premises will be erected in brick, and will have a bakehouse with the most up-to-date appliances procurable : tea-rooms, front shop, and dwelling all under the one root. Williama's Tea-rooms have become exceedingly popular for everything pertaining to the refreshment of the inner man. The rooms devoted to this trade are fitted up in a tasteful manner, and have become the recognised house of call by all motorists and others who enjoy a refreshing cup of tea. Possibly the most interesting feature of the business is the manner in which a genuine fresh condition is preserved of each item of a stock that literally tsems with tho most tempting delicacies of the baker's and confectioner's art.' It is beyond the ficope of this sketch to enumerate the many specialities that have become identified with this progressive house, but reference may be made, inter alia, to its lovely wedding, birthday, and christcn;ng er.kes of all descriptions, which are second to none of these of any city hciise. Williams's, as a bakery, confectionery, and tea-room establishment, has become a very popular centre, commanding a high name, and extensive fuirle to which its conspicuous position in the lerding thoroughfare of Levin has contributed. Refreshments are obtainable at all hours.
