The body was found at ten o'clock in the Mangatainoka River, with a bullet wound under the right ear. He had only trousers and boots on. His legs were tied just above the boots. 'His other clothes -were on the bank. 4 five-chambered revolver was found in the river close to the body. One chamber was empty, and the others full.
