Gunner (18) 56; Corp. Hobspn (13), 53. ' KARORI CLUB The members of the Karori Rifle Club nred the fourth match of its second series for trophies presented by Messrs J' F Mills, L. Blundell, A. Collins, G. Halli'day, C. Hodder, -and W. H. Tisdall, at Trentham on Saturday; also the third match for the Owon Daly trophies. This match was also the final for the Johnston cup. The ranges were 500 and 600 yards, and the weather being perfect the sooriug was remarkably good. DeputyPresident G. Halliday won the club trophy of the day, with the fine score of 63, Burns being close up with 67, and taking the ammunition prize. H. 0. Browne, with s. splendid 65, won the ammunition prize for the highest handicap man, his score being two over the club standard. The Johnston cup, for shooting at 200, 500, and 600 yards, was won by Deputy -President G. Halliday after a splendid tussle with Rifleman W. Judd, only one point separating them. The leading scores for the cup were: — Halliday 328, Judd 327, Marshall 322,. Fellows 320, Hay 317, Tarr 317. With one more match to go the club aggregates stand as follows: — Club championship, President Marshall 443, Riflemen Judd 432, Tarr 425, Deputy-Presi-dent Halliday 422, Hay 420, Standidge 414; handicap aggregate, Riflemen Fellows 418, Street 410, Caldwell 407, H. 0. ment in India, who is a. vice-president of the Karori Riflo Club, has announced lm intention of presenting it wilh a silver cup annually, or every two years, as the club wisbfis. It has been decided that tho competition shall extend over two years, and will be allotted to tho highest asreregate at 200, 500, and 600 yards. Mrs Johnston has also offered a ladies' trophy, which will be fired for \viih the Morrktube, and will be open to wives of married members or sisters of single members. PETONE RIFLE CLUB. Tho Petone Rifie Club completed it>> third aggregate competition on Saturday. Scores also counted for the shield and the Grace trophy.
