SATURDAY'S COMPETITIONS. Thfe Highlanders won the fourth annual competition for the First Wellington Rifle ! Battalion- Challenge Shield at Trentham on Saturday afternoon. The winners notched 878 points, Post and Telegraph with 862 being runners-up: Civil Service Rifles, with 860, third; Guards, with 839, fourth; City Rifles, with 522, fifth, and College Rifles, with 709, sixth. Although the day was not perfect, some good scores were registered. Sergt. Dodd (City Rifles) topped the totals with a score of 95, and Sergt. Lang, of the same company, secured 94.
