THE LOCKER SYSTEM.
Though the police are not now interfering with the revival .of a modified form of the locker Byetem in Invereargill, this tranquillity may not be permanent. InvercargUl appears to think that the "consorting" clause of the amended Act can be circumvented by the carriage of liquor in private flasks to a soft-drink depot. The Justice Department has not overlooked this manceu- j vre. The point is being studied, and the police will be advised presently about this clause and other delicate matters in the new law.
