MARYBOROUGH'S CLAIM. fBY TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] ! BLENHEIM, This Day. | Referring to the telegram from Nelson j on Wednesday concerning Junior Na- \ tional Scholarships, the Marlborough. Education Office supplies the following particulars : — Of 26 local candidates 16 were successful, which is a higher percentage than the average for the Dominion. Nelson had 27 who qualified, instead of 41, if euceess were in ratio to the number of pupils on the rolls of the districts. Three of the 27 in Nelson, were lower than the lowest in Marlborough. Nelson has four secondary institutions supplying candidates for this examination; Marlborough none- All who qualified in Marlborough did so for the first time.
