CHRISTCHURCH GRAIN MARKET.

{"BY TELEGRAPH— PQESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 27th Jan. A good turnover in new wheat is taking place, millers being the principal buyers, the quality being so excellent. The range of prices is very narrow as compared with last season. The bulk of the purchases are being made at 3s 2d at country stations, and a few lines at 3s Id. The fine weather of the past week and the dry condition of the- grain has resulted in an unusually large quantity of stock threshed wheat being placed on the market. Oats are still scarce, only a few small lots coming forward. Many- farmers say ¦ they will require all they have for their own use, where the crops have been very light, or where caterpillars have done damage. There is likely to be less oats available than these districts wil 1 require. Cocksfoot is now selling at fairly : large quantities, 6^, being the highest price reported for Peninsula seed The crop is said to be turning out less than ' was even expected. '
