At 9 a.m. the following forecast was Issued for the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds. — Moderate to strong easterly windß are probable northward of East Cape aiul^. Kawbia; westerly winds, strong to gale in parts, elsewhere. Barometer. — Fall slowly northward of New Plymouth and Napier; unsteady elsewhere. Sea.— -Hough in Foveaux Strait and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; moderate elsewhere. Tides.— Poor or all the western coast; moderate elsewhere. Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Campbell, Nugget Point, and Centre Island.
