THE BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.

TO THE EDITOB. Sir, — It is supremely amusing to find Archdeacon Harper so very conscious of the necessity of imposing the duty of imparting religious instruction on the State and its teachers! Might I ask the venerable archdeacon (through your columns) why, if the moral needs of our youth are so urgent, his own Sunday school is closed down for three weeks? I suppose-, if the State teachers could be got to undertake the work, our tired clerical friends and the teaching staffs in their Sunday schools would find it conduciTe to their pfiysical and moral health to close down, for fiftytwo Sundays in the year. — I am, etc.,' OVER-WORKED. Wellington, 23rd January.
