The paper states that public and private finances in the State are in such a sound condition that additional taxation for purposes of defence and immigration will be scarcely felt. > RAILWAY REVENUE. l MELBOURNE, 23rd January. > The revenue for the State railways during the past half-year increased by £245,455, as compared with the corresponding half of the previous year.
