Among" the many picnics which were held around Palmerston yesterday was a trip up Ohariti under the auspices of the Manawatu Philosophical Society. Fourteen people of both sexes took partin the expedition, which was the first of a series of similar excursions to be made by members of the society and friends ior the purpose of botanical research.
