DOMINION BOY SCOUTS.

(By "Tracker.") Notes of - general interest from Scoutmasters will be inserted in this column. They should be addressed to "Tracker." care' the Editor Evening Post, and should reach me each Monday for publication on tho Wednesday. THORNDON 'TROOP. On Thursday last the members of St. Paul's Choir, together with some wellknown amateurs, gave a concert in aid of the Troop's Camping vFund. Scouts also gave several items, and during the evening the prizes and medals won in the recent competitions were presented. On Saturday the troops met at "The Spring," when instruction was given in fiist-aid, knotting, and inarching, in view of the approaching tournament. During the latter part of the afternoon a detachment of Girl Scouts, which was patrolling near by, witnessed a demonstration in first-aid, given by the Tin Patrol. In the evening the Scoutmaster and his assistant, accompanied by about half the troop, followed the usual custom of celebrating the sth of No vember on the Tinakori Hills. Scouts are requested to meet at the clubroom. to-night at 7 o'clock, when a member of the Dominion Scouts has promised to be piesent. NOTES. It again becomes necessary to draw attention to unofficial honours badgeu jind ornaments worn by some Scouts. Some buglers wear a brass miniature bugle on the arm, and some signallers wear flags when they, have not passe 1 the tost. This js contrary to regulations, and it is hoped that Scoutmasters will discourage such practices. The district secretary wishes the following troops to register their patrols this week. viz. : ftliramar, Roseneath, Biooklyn, Mount Victoria, Island Bay, Johnsonville, Petone No. 1, Newtown, Pathfinders,- Upper Hutt, St. Peter's Mission, Lower Hutt, Tory-street Mm-

sion. The returns are to be as on 30th September. An endeavour is being made to take a census of the whole island. Let us hope Wellington will not delay in sending forward its totals. I have to thank the Newtown Troop for a group photo taken recently. They show a splendid muster (52), and look particularly smart. It has been agreed to hold a field day on 22nd January, and the district secretary has been aßked to draw up a progiamme. The whole of the Scouts of Wellington and suburbs wjll probably bo divided into two forces and a sham fight held at some suitable placo handy to the city., The date has been fixed well ahead, so that proper arrangements can be made. Entries for the tournament on Saturday sre very satisfactory, and promise tome keenly-contested competitions. The programme commences at 2.15 p.m.. but it may be necessary to hold preliminary lioats in some of the evonts. These- will be advertised, and Scouts aro asked to look out for such notice.
