BUILDING TRADE ACTIVE. AUCKLAND CONTRACTORS BUSY. [BY TELEGEAPH — SPECIAL TO THE POST.] AUCKLAND, This Day. The activity of the building trade in Auckland continues to be more and more in evidence. A large number of tenders have been received during the past wek for various works, both in the city and suburbs, and in a number 01 cases contracts have been made with the lowest tenders j in other cases the acceptance of a tender has not yet taken piace, whilst in some instances an extension of time tor the sending in of the tenders hah been announced. This latter fact is in itself a noteworthy evidence of the busy' state of trade, the reason for the extension of time being genorally due to the fact that contractors are unable to prepare their estimates by the dates originally fixed for the closing of tenders. It is generally agreed that the ensuing summer will be probably the busiest yet experienced in the local building trade.
