CORINTHIC, FROM LONDON. Shortly before 10 o'clock this morning the R.M.S. Corinthic dropped anchor in the stream. A report of the voyage, furnished by Mr. T L Evans, purser, states that the vessel left Plymouth on the 21st August, and Teneriffe five days later. Moderate to fresh S.E. trades were encountered from the equator to Capetown, which was reached on the 11th September After landing passengers and embarking mails, etc., the Corinthic left again the same day, and immediately ran into some rough weather, but suffered no damage. Nearing Hobart a south-westerly gale, with heavy rain, was experienced, and these conditions prevailed until arrival at the Tasmanian port. The last stage of the voyage was entered on at 5.30 a.m. on Saturday last in fine weather, which lasted until yesterday morning, when a violent thunderstorm with very vivid lightning was encountered. Afterwards flue weather prevailed until arrival. Captain Frank Hart, R.N.R., is in command, and has the following officers associated with him :— Chief, Mr. J. Thompson ; first, Mr. J. H. Callow; second, Mr. W. S. Hodgson; third, Mr. S Hall; fourth,- Mr. C. Euman; purser, Mr. T. L. Evans; surgeon, Dr. T. E. Simpson; chief engineer, Mr. M. Hunter. THE SYDNEY BOAT. As the port health officer was engaged on the Corinthic when the Ulimaroa arrived from Sydney at 10.30 o'clock thib morning, the latter vessel had to spend about 2i hours in the stream. She berthed afc"" the Queen's Wbarf shortly before 1 p.m. After clearing Sydney heads at 3.10 p.m. on Saturday the Ulimaroa encountered northerly winds until Monday, when a change to the westward brought up a heavy sea. Rough weather tnen prevailed until Cook Strait was reached. On Monday last the vessel was enveloped in a thick fog for about an hour. • Unexpectedly the steamer Melbourne arrived tin port this morning from Newcastle. The vessel brought 800 tons of Newcastle coal for the Wellington Gas Company. There was too much sea on the Westport bar this morning, and the departure of the Whangape for Wellington has been postponed until to-morrow afternoon.
