FIGHT WITH AN EAGLE.

SCOTTISH GAMEKEEPER ATTACKED. A Scottish gamekeeper, Mr. James Fraser, who Is in the service of Mr. E. S. Gooeh, of Torcnstle, Lochiel— has had all exciting adventure with a golden eagle. As he was proceeding through Glen Laragan, near Fort William, reports a Chronicle correspondent, a grouse, apparently pursued, alighted between him ahd his dog, and immediately afterwards a magnificent specimen of the golden eagle rose and soured away. Fraser a couple of hours later had occasion to take shelter from the rain near the same spot, when he was startled by the eagle swodping upon him and fixing its talons it. his leg. His dog promptly attacked the eagle, and a fight ensued betwe&n . dog tmd bird. Th& eagle, however, was handicapped by its hold on the keeper's ankle, and ultimately was killed, though the dog was badly mauled in the fight. It was then found that So firmly had the eagle fixed its talons into the Keeper's ankle that th& bird's leg had to be severed before release could b© obtain cd.
