fBT miC»APH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 12th August. I Gisborne residents in Christchurch for the Grand National meeting this evening presented G. Jones, trainer of Paisano, F. C. Porter, trainer of Te Arai, and W. Young, rider of both horses, each with a purse of sovereigns and gold sovereign case ; also the trainers with an address expressing gratification with the condition in which the horses were landed at the post. Mr. D. J. Barry, in making the presentation, said that the winning of the Grand National double by horses belonging to Gisborne and trained there was quite an event in such a comparatively small place as Gisborne.
