METHODIST CHURCH.
Last night's meeting of the recentlyenlarged Thorndon circuit of the Methodist Church of Australasia was presided over by the Rev. T. Fee. Financial matters claimed the attention of the meeting for a considerable time, a committee being set up to report to an adjourned meeting. The affairs of the Sunday-school and C.E. Society were reported upon favourably. An interesting discussion arose upon the question of inaugurating what is known as the subpastorate in the circuit. The proposal was warmly received, and it was decided to adopt the system, details being left to a small committee to arrange. Several other matters were dealt with, and the meeting now stands adjourned sine die.
