HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.

St. Patrick's Branch, No. 95, of the Hibernian Society held its half-yearly meeting in St. Patrick's Hall last evening. Bro.. J. W. Callaghan, 8.P., presided over a large attendance, including the Rev. Fathers Hickson and Yenning. The Rev. Father Yenning read an interesting paper on the Hibernian Society, for which he received a hearty vote of thanks. The balance-sheet for the quarter was read, and the auditons' report received, which showed a steady increase in 'funds and membership. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows : President, Bro. W. J. Feeney ; vice-president, Bro. J. J. L. Burke; secretary, Bro. P. D. Hoskins ; assistant-secretary • and treasurer, Bro. J. O'Sullivan; warden, Bro. J. M'Keowenj guardian, Bro. J. M'Loughlin; sick visitors, Bros. Condon and o' Callaghan; auditors, Bros. H. M'Keowen and F. J.. M'Donald. The retiring president, Bro. J. W. Callaguan, who could not seek re-election owing to pressure of business, was awarded a framed past president's certificate for his services. The following members were nominated for the position of district-deputy for the choice of the branches in the Wellington district : Bros. J. W. Callaghan, P. D. Hoskins, and J. O'Sullivan. Visitors from the Sacred Heart, Newtown, and Hutt branches were present and were accorded a hearty welcome. ?^ S - ¥',J, J - Hodgins (Hutt), Sellaw (Thorndon), and Giles (Newtown) -replied, and asked members of the branch to visit them.
