HIGH COAIAIISSIONER'S REPORT. The Commerce Division of the Department of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists has received the following cablegram fiom the High Commissioner, daLed London, 21st Alay, 1910. Mutton.—The market is* quiet, and there is a dull sale for all qualities. The average price to-day is 3§d per lb. for Canterbury, and 3^d for North Island ] mutton. Lamb.—The markst is steady, and I there is a good demand feu- all lamb. Canterbuiy s^d per lb., other than Canterbury 5d per lb. Beet.—The market remains firm. New Zealand hinds 4£d, fores 3gd per lb. Butter.—The market is quiet, and prices slightly weaker. Choicest New Zealand butter to-day is 107s cwt., Danish 113s, Australian 103s, Siberian 101s. Cheese.—The market i& dull. The average price of finest New Zealand cheese to-day is 56s Hemp.—The market is ' very quiet; nothing doing. New Zealand good fair, on spot, £25 per ton., New Zealand fair gr^de, on spot, £24 per ton; fair current Manila, spot, £24 per ton. Forward shipment: New Zealand? good fair £24 15s per ton, fair £23 15&; fair current Manila, £22 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 41,000 bales. Wheat.—The market is weak, and inactive. New Zealand long-berried wheat, on spot, ex granary, per quarter of 496 lbs., 35s 6d. Oats.—The market is quiet, small business doing. New Zealand oat?, short (sparrow-bills), ex granary, on spot, ger quarter of 3841b5, 18s 3d; New Zealand oats (Danish), ex granary, on spot, per quarter of cwUlbs., 16s 9d. • Peas.—The market is firmer, and there is more demand. New Zealand peas, partridge, per 5041b5., 53s 6'd. Beans.—The market is steady. New Zealand beans, f.a.q. (new crop), per 5041b5., 36s 6d. The shipment of Nelson apples ex Paparoa arrived in fair condition, and met dull sale on account of the heavy arrivals from Australia.
