The butchers employed by the Queensland Meat Export Company, the Redbank Freezing Works, and the Birt Company Freezing Works have struck. The trouble has arisen over the demand of the Federated Meat Workers' Union for a new wages log. The Wages Board recently gave the men an increase of 20 per cent., but it is stated the union demands a further increase of about 30 per cent. Several hundred men aro out, and it is feared the trouble will spread.
