RUGBY FOOTBALL.
The Rugby Football fta?on opens in Wellington to-morrow afternoon. In the senior games the meeting at the park of Athletic and Oriental will probably attract most followers. La>t season both these teams were well up towards the top at tue finish. Already tho Orientals have given .i tjsto <,i their quality by beating Poneke. *o that with both teams in form this opening meeting should provide a good exhibition/ Ihe other match on the park should also attract attention. Both the St. James and Southern teams aro said to have a number of new players, who have not hitherto been seen playing here. At the Hutt the Petone team play Wellington, and the Old Boys Elay the newly-formed Hutt team. The itter game should bo keenly contested. As the winners of the junior championship, the Hutt should be able to put a strong team in the field.
