The grounds of divorce are adultery and desertion. The husband insisted on living in Soho slums for the purpose of writing a novel. Hie petitioner was born in Coik. Her first novel appeared in 1903. Her husband, born in 1879. published two books of poems in 1895, and wrote "The Applo of Kden" in 1897 (the book was ultimately publWied in v re-written form in 1B05). In 1902 he had the fouruct play "Red and* White Ruth" pro(kued by Miss Muriel Wylford in thp provinces. He dramatised his wife's novel "John Chili ote, M.P." His publications include "Traffic," "The Evolution of Katherine," "The Realist," "Sally Bishop," nnd "Mirnjio.'
