The cruiser Moltke, a vessel more powerful than the Yon tier Tann, has been launched at Hamburg. She completes the ISO 3 programme. So far back as 1907 the Germans replied to the British Invineibres, which were magnificent «hips in their time, and a vayt advance upun any cruiser that had been seen before, by laying down tho Yon der Tann. She is 1500 ton* larger than the Invincible*, carries' a heavier battery, {-ncl has more powerful engines. Not satisfied oven with her, in 1908 and last year the. German 'Admiralty laid down the two Sup^r-Invin-cible* — to coin a fmh word — G and H. These gigantic cruisers, about which extreme secrery has been observed, are said to displace 22,000 tou-j api«ce, and it is Known that they »vill h^ye engines of 70,000 how-power.
