SUBURBAN MAYORAL ELECTIONS.

Mr. John Brodie, who has resigned office as councillor in order to contest! tha Mirainar mayoralty, advertises in' this issue ithe order of his meetings. The first address will be delivered on Monday evening. The election of a Mayor for Eastbourne will be held on Wednesday, 27th April. It is. notified in our advertising columns that nominations close on 20th List. Mr. Townsend, who is also a candidate for .Miramar, will speak at Worset Cay on Monday evening.

An application was made by a mother in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, that a prohibition order be issued against her son, Wari Kerehoma, 16 years of age. Both complainant and dedendaiit are natives, living at Porirua. The former gave evidence that the lad had left home and was liyiiig at a hotel, and that he had been drinking no as to>injure his health. It was stafed for thedefence that defendant received rental for somo property. He was living away from home because, he averred, his mother, father-in-law, an adopted European girl, and himself, all lived in a one-roomed house. He had only leceived £7 during the last- month, of which he had spent £5 in clothes. In. dismissing the information the justices on the bench mentioned that the police would have no difficulty in a small district, such as Porirua, in keeping an eye on defendant, who was advised to return to his mother.
