A DANNEVIRKE APPEAL. In the matter of tho appeal of the Dannevirke Jockey Club against a decision of tho Hawkes Bay Metropolitan Committee, who refused to approve oi a fine of £10 imposed upon J. M'Laughlin by the Dannevirke stewards for not starting the horse Full Cry in a race for which there had been a void start, and for refusing to submit such horse to an examination as to his fitness to start. Judgment. The judges, with one dieeentient, uphold the decision of the Metropolitan Committee reversing the decision of the Dannevirke Jockey Club. They are unanimous that the Metropolitan Committee had power to deal with the matter (subject to appeal to the conference), notwithstanding that no appeal to it had been lodged within the time specified by the Rules of Racing.
