[BX TELEOBAPIT — SPECIAL TO THE POSI.J GREYTOWN, This Day. A public meeting was held here tnis week to set up a committco to assist Messrs. Drummond and Maxton in their effort . to establish a tourists' tnrtn to Ml. Hector from Woodsido via Mount Reeves and tho Cone. The Mayor was in the chair, and after some general discussion a committee consisting of Messrs. Nicol, Stevens, M'Kcnzie, ►Coonton, Smith, H. Catt, all of Carter'ton; H. Evans, A. Nicol, J. W. Kershaw, of Martinborough ; C. J. KentJohoston, A. J. Toogood, and A. H. Hayes, Featherston ; T. M. Drummond, M. Maxton, D. P. Loasby, A. L. Webs--ter, H. Humphries, W. Workman, H. lUdy, W. I. Shanley, W. Armstrong, W. H. Day, L. J. Stratford, with power to add to their number, was set up. A hearty vote of thanks was unanimouslypassed to Messrs. Drummond and Maxton for tho efforts made by them in {initiating tho proposal and for the work idono by them. Tho question of the next meeting was left with tho chairjnian and • secretary. At a -meeting of tho Executive Comitmifctee of tho South Wairarapa Boy .^Scouts tho following were present: — The ;Rev. A. T. B. Page, Dr. Palmer, J. T. N. Hornaby, M. Maxton, E. O. Turner, A. J. Toogood, and Chief Scoutmaster Shanlev, Scoutmasters Bagley, Salmon and "king, and assistant .Scoutmaster Fairbrother. Mr. Hornsby •presided. Letters from tho Dominion •Chief Scout, Major D. Cossgrovc, were •read and dealt with. Mr. W. Barton, of Featherston, was nominated as District Commander.
