DR. HENRY'S MISSION.

» - WELCOME BY MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION. The Wellington Ministers' Association welcomed Dr. Henry yesterday at luncheon in the V.M.C.A. Hail. There was a large attendance of ministers of the city and representative officers of the Salvation Army. The Rev. J. Kennedy Elliott presided, and in the name of the association addresses of welcome were given by the Revs. Win. Shirer M. Aspland, and Brigadier Bray. Dr, Henry, in rising to reply," received- a hearty welcome. He said the success of such a campaign as was now beginning depended in large degree on the minis*ers. He had no confidence in any. su <* campaign- attempted apart frpn. the Church. He believed whble-Eearte'd-Iy in the Church as the great leader in the solution of all moral problems, and in seeking the immediate reclamation of the lost. Evangelism must have a very iarge place in the programme of any" man who would make full proof of bisministry. Id his own ministry he had always given a large plate to such work, and in ois campaign he never adopted any methods which he had not proved in his pastoral work. He -wanted the work to be- thorough-going, intelligent, and founded on the word of Go/r. If a ma-n was. to become anything ho must believe something. It was hardly to be' expected that every minister could endorse every utterance. . He was not her» to enter into any controversy with brethren. He was here to help minister to reap the harvest of the seed they had sown. The business of Mie 'evangelist was to work in fellowship with th« Churches, and the permanent effect- of the campaign would be determined by that fellowship.
