VICTORIA COLLEGE DEBATING SOCIETY
The annual meeting of the Victoria College Debating Society was held at the college last evening. The retiring president, Mr. J. Mason, congratulated the members on a successful year. The Plunket medal was won by Mr. (). Moriif, 8.A., the Union prize Mr. j! M. Hoglien, and the new Speaker's piiite by Mr. J. Ogg. Tho committee donated a prize to Miss E. H. Fell, of the Women's Debating Society. The following officers were elected :— Patron, his Excellency the Governor ; president, Professor Laby, 8.A. ; chairman, Mr. R. Kennedy, 31. A., LL.B. ; vice-chairman, Mr. W. J. M'Eldowney; secretary, Mr. .1. Ofcg, R.A.j treasurer, Mr. F. HallJoues ; committee. Misses F. Ncilson, M.A., A. E. C#nie, M.A., Me*»rs. C H. Taylor, M.A., A. Fair, LL.B. ; hon. auditor, Mr. H. D. Skinner.
