The railway working account, showing tho revenue and expenditure up to sth March (339 days) is gazetted. The figures are as follow: — Revenue. 1909-10. 1908-9. £2,971,660 £2,638,363. Expenditure. £2,Q13,983 £1,917,027 North Island Revenue. £1,474,355 £1,259,686 South Island Revenue £1,497,305 £1,378,677 North Island Expenditure. £1,001,844 £889,516 South Island Expenditure. £1,012,143 £1,027,510 In tho North Island the rovenuo per milo of railway was £1455, and tho expenditure per milo £991. In tho South Island tho revenues was £830 per mile, and tho expenditure £711 per milo. Tho number of miles open for traffic in the Norfh Island was 1135, and in tho South Island 1574.
