11.M.5. ENCOUNTER'S LIST OF NEW OFFICERS 11.M.5, Encounter is now en route from Svdncy to Colombo for the purpose of being rc-commiAMoned, reports the Sydney Telegraph. The cruisor Hawke, Captain M. U. Hill commanding, left Shecrness on 10th March with the new crew for the Encounter. The paid -off crew of the Encounter will return Home in tho Huwke, and the now crew will bring tho Encounter back to her station. Captain Colomb and Commander William Mellon have been both re-appointed to the Encounter, and other appointments up to dato include those ot Lieutenant h. A. Cluttcrbuck, who will act a« tirst-lieuton-ant Mid gunnery officer ; Lieutenant R. G. Hurst, who will bo the new navigating officer; Lieutenant I). llunte-Grubb, Lieutenant T. K. Elmoley, and Lieutenant E. N. Mortimer, Lieutenants William O. O'G. Cochrane, Al. L. Goldsmith, R, G. Dinwiddy, E. C. Stubbs and J. G. Walth will, therefore, bo relieved according to the present arrangements. Amongst tho engine-room officers appointod arc: — En-gineer-Lieutenant T. E. Hughes, who rumain* with the Encounter for another commission, and Engineer-Lieutenant G. j E. M'Ewen, and Engineer-Lieutenant IS. Crabtree; and other appointments include Lieutenant C. G. Billing, who will be in command of the Royal Marino Light Infantry detachment on board ; Staff-Pay-master R. F. Wardropcr, Sub-Lieutenant Nelson Clovor (re-appointed). Carpenter E. Hoad, Artincor-Engineor T. P. Thorn, and Clerk G. 11. Lano. All tho newlyappointed office™, vrurrant officers, etc., will do duty aboard the Hawk* to Colombo. Lieutenant S. K. Smith hat b««n appointed th« navigating officer of the cruiwr Cambrian, Captain E. Wsrniu.
