John Saunders. a wharf labourer, who wii injured by a bag of sugar falling on him while working cargo on the steamer Wimmera, died in the hospital last night. He was a married man, 45 years of age. TAHIHAPE, This Day. An inquest was held at Turangaarere yesterday on a Maori child 2 years 4 months of age, daughter of To Hcma, v-ho wandered away from her grandfather's house and fell into the river. A verdict of accidental death was returned. An engineer named John M'Keen, of I'etonc, met with an accident last night while stepping off a train on to the platform at Lower Hutt. His arm was broken, nnd he also received slight injuries to liis head. He was admitted to the hospital.
