LADIES' HOCKEY.

WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. There «as a vciy satisfactory attendanre of delegates and members at the fifth annual meeting of the Wellington Ladies' Hockey Association, held in the V.M.C.A. Rooms last night. Dr. Arnold W. Izard, president of the association, was in the chair. The report and balance-sheet, which have been previously published, were adopted. Office-bearers were elected as follow : — President, Hr. Agnes Bennett ; vice- . presidonts, Miss Coates, Mrs. Rhodet>, Dr. Holmes, and Messrs. " 0. J. Crawford, T. M. Wilford, W. E. Pearson, and W. J. Organ; hon. secretary, Mi*s L. M. Mackellar; hon. treasurer. Miss \V. Mellsop : hon. auditor, Mr. A. C. Geddis ; committee, Misses Fleet, M'ln tosh, Cameron, Wimsett, Fernandez, Dement, and Mr. M'lntyre ; representative match committee, Miss L. M. Mackellar, A. Pflterson, and A. C Ceddis ; dolegates to New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association, Misses L. AI. Mackellar and E. Fleet. It was moved by Mr. J. D. M. M'lntyre that the capitation fee be .increased to Is 6d per member. The motion wass carried, with an amendment of Miss Mockellar's, that the fee should be paid by all active members attached to the various clubs. Instruction was giver to the delegates to the New Zealand Association to vote for the following motions :—: — "That in lieu of the annual tournament, as held daring 1908 and 1909, the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Championship be decided by means of a chnllenge cup, to be played for on similar conditions to those governing the New Zealand Association's Challenge Cup ; that the headquarters of the New Zealand Indies' Hockey Association be shifted from Christchurch to Wellington ; and that the committee of the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey As- i sociation consider the feasibility and the advisability of amalgamation with the New Zealand Hockey Association. It was decided to appioach the Wellington Ferry Company in regard to ;t i eduction in the players' fares M Day's Bay on Saturday* afternoon, it hfing considered that Cm I was amplo charge. The various mpt to the successful tram* Lmt year were- presented by Dr. laard. The Senior Cup wa awarded to the Victoria College team, the Junior to Gregg's A eleven, and the Roseneath representatives received tho Third-class Cup. An expression of thanks was passed on behalf of Dr. Izard, who declined renomination for the presidency of tho asssociation, and mention was made of the kindly interest he had taken in connection with the association's wclfaic.
