C. Kwaii, purser, reports that after the Mokoia left Wellington on the 16vh March she met with east to north-east winds, and moderate seas, which were the rule till arrival at Rarotonga at 6.12 a.m. on the 22nd. Fruit cargo and island produce were shipped, and the \essel sailed for Wellington at 5.30 p.m. on Monday week.. Moderate easterly winds and seas )ire\ ailed till Friday last, after which a heavy south-westerly swell with passimg showers — probably the remnant of last week's heavy southerly gale — was encountered. These conditions lasted till Monday, when more pleasant weather supervened, but a moderate south westerly wind and sea accompanied the steamer till arrival at Wellington. Cargo brought by the Mokoia is as follows— 2925 cases bananas, 1369 cases oranges, 1 case lemons, 138 cases pcarlshell, 2204 sacks copra, 10 sacks coconuts, 18 casks oil, 60 boxes prunes, and a quantity of sundries. GEORGIA'S PROGRAMME. An Auckland telegram advises that the Austrian steamer Georgia, with case oil from New York, continued her voyage to Wellington yesterday. After discharging a further^ portion of her cargo at this i>ort she proceeds to Lyttelton and Dunedin. On completion of discharge at Duhedm she takes the loading berth on behalf of the New Zealand Shipping Company. Her ports of call are to be Timaru, Lj Helton, Wellington, and Auckland, in the order named. Captain A. H. Kemp, of the Tyser Line, who recently had charge of the Mimiro, has been appointed to 'the Whakarua. Captain Kelgatc, whom he replaces, is remaining in England, and will be placed in command of the Tyser liner now on the stocks. Mr. C. H. Bailey, jun., of Auckland, is building to the order of the New Zealand Shipping Company a launch to be used in the tendering of passengers off Tokomaru for the Union and Huddart-Parker Companies. The launch is of the diagonal type, fitted with two ten horse-power Standard engines, has an Bft beam, ard is 40ft long. Mr Bailey has just completed three whaleboats for the cable steamer Iris and two for the Melanesian Mission service. The Union Company's steamer Kurow after completing her discharge here proceeds to Westport. Including stoppages at Las Palmas and Monte Video the time occupied was 47 days. The Tyser liner Star of Canada arrived at London on the 2oth March from New Zealand ports, and is to be despatched again on the 19th April for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand ports. Neither the Holradale or the Ennerdale, which were yesterday expected at Greymouth, put in an appearance. The Holmdale is to load a cargo of timber at Greymouth for Lyttelton and Timaru, while the latter vessel will load for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Lauderdale leaves Huon to-day for Melbourne. The Kairaki, which recently visited Karamca, has the distinction of beinc the largest vessel to work that port. The Kairaki is of 458 tons irross register, and while at Karamca discharged 600 sacks of produce, and loaded 105,000 ft of timber. The time occupied was nine hours, a record for Karamea. The bar had 14ft of water on it. and Captain Siott praised the shipping facilities of the port. The schooner Jessie Nicol wa« towed clear of the New River beads on Friday afternoon at 5 p.m., by the steamer Invercargill, and sailed for the Macquaric Islands (says the Southland Times). Shu has been lying at waiting a chance to set out during the recent bad weather, and she may noiv get a chance to make a quick passage down. All the island party will return to New Zealand this trip, together with a cargo of oil.
