LODGE MEETINGS.

Court Sir William Jervois, A.O.F. held its fortnightly meeting in St. Thomas's Schoolroom, Newtown, on Tuesday night, C.R. Bro. J. H. Gilchrist presiding. The secretary read the past quarter's balance-sheet, showing the court to be making steady progress. A challenge was received from the Coronation Lodge of Druids to a "bobs" tourney for the "Bobs" Cup. It was resolved to accept the challenge, and to meet the challengers on the 3rd May. After the court 'business was concluded, the members had a pieasant timo at the "bobs" tables. The Amusement Committee expressed pleasure at the increased attendance at the meeting, and stated that it had a"surprise" in store for members at next meeting. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Britannia Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., was held in the Oddfellows' Hall last evening, when the Noble-Grand Bro. S. Guy presided over a Urge attendance of members and visiting brethren. The Elective-Secratavy Bro. Spring forwarded his resignation of the office held by him, which was duly accepted. Nomination! were then taken for the vacant office, that on behalf of P.O. Bro. Palmer being accepted by the lodge. Considerable discussion took place over the question of a suitable nigltt for the giving of minor degrees and attending lectures. Finally a motion to the effect that tho other Oddfellows' lodges in Wellington be circularised with the object of obtaining combined lectures, was carried on the voices. Seven candidates who had successfully passed the ballot were initiated into the Order, ;md proposals on behalf of three others i\eve accepted. Visiting brethren were cordially received, and lodge honours given in their behalf.
