AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

A meeting of the Executive Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic r Association was held last evening, there being present : — Messrs. A. Marryatt (in the chair), J. H. Pollock, C. E. Bridge, E, L. Chaffey, W. F. Larkin, 'A. Davies, and W. G. Talbot (lion, secretary). The Southland Centre notified that it proposed holding the New Zealand Cross Country Cliampionsbip at In vercargill, and asked as to how much road was to be included in tbe race. It was agreed thai the centre be informed that the race mnst be over true cross country with as little road as possible included in the course. Application for a record over the 220 yds made by W. A. Woodger was held over to get a certificate that the measuring chain was correct. In reply to the application of the Otago Centre for the Australasian Championship meeting, following the recommendation of the conference of centres, it was pointed out that up to the present there had been no remit of the business transacted at ibis conference, and the matter .was. held ewer until this was received. Several applications for reinstatement were dealt with as follows : — W. Grinlinton, E. Wake, W. M'lntosh, J. M'Donald, and R. Gibson were reinstated on the application of the Wellington Centre. J. Nolan was reinstated on the application of the Auckland Centre. Applications from Richmond (Nelson), Griersoa (Mataura) were referred back for further information. Tbe case of W. H. Edwards, who had raced as a cyclist, and who now applied for reinstatement, was referred to the League of Wheelmen as governing amateur cycling in the Dominion. The permission given to the Auckland Club to pay the expenses of Kexr to compete at Auckland was confirmed.
