As the result of a protest on behalf of local mercantile firms the Telephone Department has agreed to continue the daily porting of debit notices for bureau connections on puyment of a nominal fee of one penny per diem. The decision has been accepted with satisfaction by business firm.*, who thought that the dii-con-tinuanco would have prevented all check of the u« of telephones.
